Originally, farming and organic practices were one in the same. Over time, production demands caused those two practices to differ widely. Recently, there has been a steady movement back towards organic wine production. Vineyards across the globe have taking part in this conscience movement and in the United States the Organic Foods Act put the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) in charge of establishing regulations for organic foods including organic wines.
